Why is Benvenna rated 18+?

Because the terms of the AI provider that powers Benvenna's conversation, translation and feedback features require users to be adults. It is not a content rating. There is nothing explicit, violent or mature in the app — it teaches languages, and it asks you to confirm you are over 18 before any AI feature runs.

What does the microphone notice mean?

Benvenna's Speaking Lounge and Real‑World Interpreter work by sending your microphone audio, in real time, to our servers and on to Google's Gemini API, which understands your speech and replies out loud. Before your first voice session we tell you this and ask you to acknowledge it. We do not keep recordings of those sessions, and the microphone is active only while a practice session is running.

If you decline that notice, voice sessions will not start. That is deliberate, not a fault — everything else in the app still works.

Managing your subscription

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they are managed in your Apple Account rather than inside Benvenna:

Because Apple handles payment, refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue a refund on Apple's behalf — but do write to us anyway if something went wrong, because we would rather fix the cause.

Your free trial

Both plans start with a 7‑day free trial and convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel during the trial and keep access until the day it would have renewed.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. Deleting removes your profile and your learning history. If you would rather we did it for you, email support@benvenna.com from the address on the account.
